Thin-film solar panel manufacturer First Solar has provided an update on its factories in Ohio, Malaysia and Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ohio is currently under a “stay at home” order, with essential businesses exempt. It is First Solar’s understanding that its manufacturing facilities are permitted to operate under this order, and business is being performed as usual.
Malaysia has a similar suspension of public activities, but First Solar is continuing its manufacturing in that country.
First Solar’s operations in Vietnam are not impacted by government-mandated restrictions on movement at this time.
The company will continue to monitor the situation.
