Altenergy, a national solar company, has completed a 9-kW ground-mounted solar PV system for Eastern Shore Community College. The design-build solar project was part of an RFP response by Altenergy and Brite Electrical Systems in coordination with the ESCC to provide an engineered system. The solar installation provides educational opportunities, ongoing real-time operating data and energy savings for the students at ESCC.

Altenergy, which has branches in Charlottesville and Staunton, Virginia, Boise and Sun Valley, Idaho, Kansas City, Missouri, and the DC metropolitan area, worked closely with Brite Electrical Systems to supply the design and construction of the solar system.

“After considering several options, including self-performing the installation, we determined that Altenergy was the best value option for a smooth design and installation process,” said David Walsh, member manager at Brite Electrical Systems. “Altenergy completing the project in one day was quite impressive to both Brite’s team and the general contractor, McKenzie Construction. Altenergy’s team far surpassed our best expectations. The team’s communication and coordination efforts were some of the best I have experienced, from any specialty trade subcontractor, in my 16 years in the industry.”
