North American solar panel manufacturer Heliene has released a 96-cell bifacial solar module with a 500-W front output. The Canadian company has a 140-MW manufacturing plant in Mountain Iron, Minnesota, in addition to its plant in Ontario, Canada. The bifacial panel joins its 96-cell line of monofacial modules.

The newest bifacial model uses M2 wafers and is 77 in. by 52 in. and 83.7 lbs. Of similar size, Heliene’s 96-cell monofacial modules are rated just under 500 W and do not have the potential backside gains.

The North American-made bifacial module is now available for orders.
