The U.S. Energy Storage Association announced today that Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette and U.S. Congressman Mike Doyle will bes keynote speakers at #ESACon20, the nation’s premier educational and networking event for energy storage.

The U.S. Department of Energy (U.S. DOE) recently launched the Energy Storage Grand Challenge, a comprehensive program to accelerate the development, commercialization and utilization of next-generation energy storage technologies, and sustain American global leadership in energy storage. The Grand Challenge builds on the Administration’s Advanced Energy Storage Initiative, which President Trump requested $190 million for in the FY2021 budget announced last week.

Congressman Doyle is a lead sponsor of the proposal for a federal Investment Tax Credit for standalone storage. The Energy Storage Incentive and Deployment Act of 2019 is a bipartisan, bicameral measure to level the playing field for energy storage technologies that enable a more resilient, efficient and sustainable grid. Congressman Doyle will offer insights on the consideration of the storage ITC and many other legislative proposals underway in Congress to support energy storage.

This year, #ESACon20 will be held in Congressman Doyle’s own district, from April 8-10 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
