Trade assistance package to be announced today

The USDA will announce details of its new trade assistance package today.

Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue and other top agency officials are scheduled to hold a briefing call with reporters this morning “regarding USDA’s specific plans to support farmers in response to damage from unjustified retaliation and trade disruption”.

The trade aid program will also be the focus of a White House meeting this afternoon involving President Trump, representatives of major farm groups, and other ag leaders.
