SEIA announced that Renewable Energy Vermont (REV) is now an official affiliate. REV becomes the 15th SEIA state affiliate, and the first in New England, growing a network of organizations committed to building and advancing solar markets around the country.

“We are thrilled to see this partnership come together and to expand our affiliate footprint into New England,” said Abigail Ross Hopper, president and CEO of SEIA. “The state and region are ripe with solar potential, and we look forward to working with REV to build on our sector’s strength in the Green Mountain State.”

Today, Vermont is home to 288.2 megawatts of installed solar electric generating capacity.

“In order to successfully create true energy independence, grow our economy, and tackle the climate crisis – local, state, and national leaders must work together,” said Olivia Campbell Andersen, REV’s executive director. “Federal policies deeply impact Vermonters ability to access the tremendous benefits of solar electricity. REV members are thankful for SEIA’s work on the federal level and look forward to further collaboration.”

SEIA Affiliates are state and regional advocacy nonprofits that SEIA has developed strategic partnerships with. These organizations have demonstrated leadership on policy and regulatory matters, actively engage with the solar industry in their respective territories and offer grassroots support for SEIA’s federal campaigns, among other accomplishments. Others include the Oregon Solar Energy Industries Organization, Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association and the Colorado Solar & Storage Association.
