Trump administration wants USMCA ratified soon

The Trump
administration is expected to push Congress this week to approve the USMCA
trade agreement with Mexico and Canada.

U.S. Trade
Representative Robert Lighthizer will testify before the Senate Finance
Committee Tuesday and the House Ways and Means Committee Wednesday, and both
committees are also expected to ask about trade negotiations with China and
Japan.

President
Trump told supporters at an Iowa ethanol plant last week he believes the USMCA
will be approved quickly, and the bipartisan bill is very much needed for
farmers and manufacturers.

The full
Mexican Senate is scheduled to vote on the USMCA Tuesday.  Canadian Prime
Minister Justin Trudeau will be in Washington this week after sending USMCA to
Parliament last week.
