UPL leader says supply challenges are easing

A global ag solutions company leader says after a couple of challenging years, supply chain disruptions are easing.

“If you look back over the last year, supply has been a number one challenge for growers.”

Craig Brekkas, Head of North America for UPL tells Brownfield they were able to satisfy the market the last 12 months, but not without challenges and careful planning.

“We were probably kick-starting our production and moving product into position a good four to five months ahead of what we did the previous year in preparation for the ’23 season.”

He says supply chain disruptions seem to be letting up and his outlook is more optimistic.

“Growers will be in a good position going into the spring on finding solutions and making sure they have product available. I certainly see that getting a lot better for them.”

Brownfield interviewed Brekkas at the 2023 Commodity Classic in Orlando.
